Being an enthusiastic art lover, Jasmine Fine Arts, established since 1993 first located in Orchard Point Shopping Centre at the 4th level, is committed to showcasing the best of the works by established and up-and-coming Chinese artists. In June 2007, our gallery was engaged for a solo exhibition of oil paintings by Wuhan artist Zeng Fanzhi. The exhibition was organized by the Singapore Art Museum and offered the public an opportunity of enjoying the wonderful visual world of Zeng, an important artist who has received accolades both in his native country and in Europe.
In 2009, Jasmine Fine Arts officially moved its premises to the 2nd level of Delfi Orchard and was renamed ArtGoGo by Jasmine Fine Art. The art space then serves as a platform for artists and art lovers to interact and share art in the cosy setting. Paintings & sculptures being displayed often invite applause and admiration for the sake of art.
Keeping abreast of the rapid growth in the demand for and appreciation of contemporary Chinese oil painting, we have, in the past three years; given great emphasis to the generations of Mainland Chinese artists whose unconventional works have captured global attention.
Buoyed by our familiarity with the art of China, particularly the development in its art trends, we have been featuring interesting works of Chinese oil painters such as Zhang Xiaogang, Yue Minjun, Wang Guangyi, Fang Lijun, Zeng Fanzhi, Zhou Chunya, Tang Zhigang, Liu Ye, Liu Wei, etc. These artists are currently in international limelight, winning praises from not only Asian art lovers and collectors but academics in the West as well, with a growing body of researches and critiques on their works.
Founder, Ms Jasmine Tay boldly introduces a brand new concept for Singapore, opening her first private Museum of Art & Design (M.A.D) in the heart of Orchard Road. Sitting on the 3rd level of Mandarin Gallery, MAD will be the first art space to feature an art museum that will feature important and usually inaccessible pieces of contemporary art. In the exclusive world of art, MAD’s main intent is to educate, excite and extend the world of modern art to those who have not been privileged enough (yet) to immerse and experience. With its exciting calendar year of emerging and superstar artists lined up in various exhibitions and events relating to fashion, art, design and life- MAD is the destination for not only art purists and buyers but also to those who can appreciate the influence of art and design on our every day life. Its multi disciplinary and lateral approach is why MAD is truly mad about art.
In addition, MAD will be hosting regular visual installations, real time work by artists in residence, workshops, seminars and parties within. An art boutique will also be housed within the space to allow participating artists to express themselves in ways outside of the traditional media such as merchandise. As the art world gets more intertwined with investments and extensive marketing, Jasmine hopes that MAD will stand apart from the rest by being a place that above everything else- genuinely prioritises the appreciation of art for the sake of art. This is why the focus is on making art accessible and nurturing a new generation to admire art as well as have the opportunity to experience art as it is for the exclusive niche of buyers and dealers.
